Arizona Technology Council Promotes Alex Rodriguez to Vice President, Southern Arizona Regional Office
The Arizona Technology Council today
announced that it has promoted Alex Rodriguez to vice president, Southern Arizona
Regional Office, effective immediately. An author, decorated military officer and leading
authority on business leadership, well-known native Arizonan Rodriguez began his career
with the Council in September, 2012 as the office’s director.
“Alex’s aptitude and contributions have been invaluable to the Council’s leadership
team,” said Steven G. Zylstra, president and CEO of the Arizona Technology Council.
“His innovative thinking and vision will continue to enhance the strategic direction and
growth of our membership in Southern Arizona.”
After becoming an Army officer at age 20, Rodriguez obtained his B.A. in Political
Science from the University of Arizona. Before receiving his Master’s Degree in Public
Policy from Harvard University, Rodriguez worked at the Arizona State Senate, the
United Nations Association in New York, and with the U.S. State Department in El
Salvador.
A former Term Member of the New York based Council on Foreign Relations, Rodriguez
served as a U.S. Department of Defense International Policy Advisor, Country Director
and Special Assistant at the Pentagon.
In the private sector, Rodriguez worked for Raytheon from 2002 thru 2008 when he was
recruited by W.W. Grainger to lead, develop and grow their government markets
business. He went on to become founder and managing director of strategic consulting
firm Client Attraction Strategy Advisors and co-authored “Counter-Attack, Business
Strategies for Explosive Growth in the New Economy” with legendary business
development expert Brian Tracy.
Rodriguez will be serving as master of ceremonies at the 2014 Arizona Technology
Council Southern Arizona Tech + Business Expo on October 15, 2014 from 12:30 p.m. to
6:30 p.m. at the Westin La Paloma Resort & Spa in Tucson. Tickets are available now
