Public Relations Society Announces Annual IMPACT Awards Winners

Caliber Group Founder Linda Welter, Gordley Group Take Top Honors

The Southern Arizona chapter of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) has announced the winners for this year’s IMPACT Awards for Excellence in Public Relations.

This year’s top honors go to Linda Welter, founder of Caliber Group, who was granted PRSA’s  Career Impact Award. KOLD’s Dan Marries was recognized as the 2023 Media Person of the Year, while Marielle Babb, NüPOINT Marketing, joined Shawnee Wright, Integrated Axis Technology Group, as the 2023 Rookies of the Year. The 2023 PR Professional of the Year award winner was Kathleen Brown, APR, Principal of Brown + Associates. The event was held at Hexagon downtown.

The Gordley Group walked away with this year’s Best in Show Award with the two highest scoring submissions for their 2023 Holiday Card and their work to inform, educate and engage City of Tucson residents in the general planning effort.

The IMPACT Awards honor PR, marketing, and communications professionals for the work they do each year across the region. This year’s submissions were judged and scored by the PRSA Tri-Cities chapter in Kingsport, Tenn. IMPACT Award honorees represent the highest standards in programs and projects that successfully incorporate the four key elements of public relations: research, planning, execution, and evaluation. Winners receive either an IMPACT Certificate of Excellence or an IMPACT Award of Excellence in Public Relations, the event’s highest scoring category. Entries are judged base on their own merits.

This year’s winners, include:
