Kids of Steele Holds Annual “FamFest” Fundraiser on Sept. 29
The second annual “Kids of Steele FamFest” is back at Funtasticks for all Kids of Steele members, friends, and pediatric patients and their families.
On Sunday, Sept. 29, supporters and patient families will join under the Big Top for “The Greatest Steele Show” where they will play carnival games, enjoy a strolling magician and face painters and more, as well as giving back to the community through Kids of Steele service projects.
Attendees will also indulge in tasty meals from Brother John’s and El Mono Verde, get a cool treat from Frost Gelato, and delight in everything else Funtasticks has to offer.
FamFest is Kids of Steele’s biggest annual fundraiser. Last year, Kids of Steele raised over
$134,000 for the University of Arizona Steele Children’s Research Center through incredible corporate sponsors and generous families.
Tickets for this event are $75/per person for non-Kids of Steele Members; $65/per person for Kids of Steele Members. Registered patients and their families are free.
Kids of Steele, the family auxiliary of the UA Steele Children’s Research Center, is composed of local families who want to teach their children about service and kindness, while raising awareness and funds for Steele.
FamFest event creates a community of families dedicated to serving patient families in need and raising funds for important pediatric medical research, along with allowing pediatric patients to forget about their illnesses and just be a kid for the day.
“We have made it our mission to pursue a cure for childhood disease through relentless research. They (the children) are worth our efforts, said Steele Director Dr. Fayez Ghishan.
