Chief Communications Officer
Tucson Airport Authority

Austin Wright models the mantra, “work hard, play hard,” for the Tucson Airport Authority, where he leads air service development, marketing and communications, and airline affairs.
The University of Arizona grad, who holds a master’s in public administration from the University of Texas, has overseen record growth at Tucson International Airport, which served more than 4 million passengers in 2024.
“My passion is aviation, which makes the challenge of being a senior leader at an airport fun,” said Wright, whose resume includes an internship with Walt Disney company and 12 years in senior management at Southwest Airlines.
A board member for Visit Tucson and a volunteer with Greater Tucson Leadership and Tucson Young Professionals, Wright enjoys outreach to inspire the next generation of aviation leaders.
“I am proud of the community relationships we have built with Visit Tucson, Tucson Roadrunners, Reid Park Zoo, Tucson Botanical Gardens, Old Tucson, UA and other organizations. Key market players in travel and tourism working together will mean great things happen for Tucson.”
