Arizona Public Media Receives Media Leadership Award

At the recent Arizona Community Action Association Annual Conference (ACAA) in Phoenix on May 8 and 9, 2014, Arizona Public Media (AZPM®) was presented with the “Media Leadership Award.” The award reflects AZPM’s commitment to eliminating poverty, and specifically for the Community Interactive: Poverty – The Working Poor event, which helped residents learn about and understand the faces of poverty in Tucson and Southern Arizona.

The Community Interactive: Poverty – The Working Poor event, a partnership with the Community Foundation for Southern Arizona, was held on February 12, 2014 at the Fox Theatre in Tucson. The event was hosted by Neal Conan, award-winning journalist, producer, and former host of NPR’s Talk of the Nation, and included a panel of educators, researchers, social service professionals, and others working every day helping people in need.
