Tucson Association of Realtors®
During its first decade in the early 1920s, the Tucson Association of REALTORS®, then known as the Real Estate Board of Tucson, didn’t have set dates for meetings. The group only gathered when the organization’s president called a meeting. In 1925, four years after the board formed, there were only 23 licensed brokers and 38 licensed salespeople in Tucson. TAR’s founders would hardly recognize the organization today. It’s the largest trade association in Southern Arizona representing the interests of more than 6,500 professionals involved in the sale, lease, appraisal and development of residential and commercial properties. Its for-profit Multiple Listing Service of Southern Arizona, started in 1984, is the area’s most extensive database of listing and sales information, facilitating more than $2.6 billion in real-estate transactions in 2024. In a region of more than 1 million residents with more coming, there are many reasons for members to get together in 2025.
