SUNDT FOUNDATION SURPASSES $6 MILLION IN GRANT AWARDS SINCE ITS INCEPTION
Eleven Tucson organizations among recipients of recent financial support
Sundt Construction, Inc. and its employees recently reached a milestone in awarding grants through the Sundt Foundation. Since its inception in 1999, the Foundation has awarded more than $6 million in grants to community organizations in Arizona, Texas and California.
In awarding the second quarter grants, Sundt surpassed the $6 million mark, which included grants to 11 Tucson nonprofit organizations totaling $20,500. The Sundt Foundation was established by Sundt to give its employee-owners a means of giving back to their communities. It provides financial support to nonprofit organizations dedicated to improving the lives of disadvantaged children and adults. Most grants are made to organizations in the communities where Sundt has offices and construction projects. The Foundation is funded primarily by contributions from Sundt employees and company matching. Here’s a closer look at the Tucson organizations that recently received funding.
$2,500 Grant Recipient
SaddleBrooke Community Outreach, Inc. will use the grant money to provide school clothing to thousands of children in low-income families.
$2,000 Grant Recipients (6)
St. Luke’s in the Desert, Inc. will utilize the funds to help provide nutritious meals and snacks for the disadvantaged, low-income seniors living in St. Luke’s assisted living facility.
Tucson Jewish Community Center will use the funds to support its summer program, which helps high school students with special needs become more independent and improve their communication and motor skills.
Primavera Foundation, Inc. will use the grant money to help provide disadvantaged children living at the Foundation’s multi-family housing community with supplies and equipment necessary for afterschool and community programming.
Project Linus, Tucson Chapter will use the grant money to purchase materials, such as fabric, batting, yarn and thread to make blankets for children in need.
The Sunnyside Unified School District Foundation, Inc. will use the funds to provide disadvantaged children within the Sunnyside Unified School district with basic needs that fall outside district or family budgets.
SciEnTeK-12 Foundation will continue to empower under-represented K-12 minority students attending schools in areas of poverty to participate in science, technology, engineering and math through inquiry-based learning and research.

Emerge! Center Against Domestic Abuse will utilize the grant to provide specialized healing programs for children who have experienced trauma from domestic abuse.
American Cancer Society, Inc. will use the grant money to purchase wigs, hats, scarves, bandanas, turbans, caps, night caps and other head coverings for women coping with the effects of cancer treatment.
Reachout, Inc. will use the grant money to provide positive options for important life choices by offering pre- and post-natal counseling, pregnancy services, educational programs, and resource and referral support.
Our Family Services, Inc. will use the funds to provide core support, including transportation services and nutrition access, for low-income seniors in the city of South Tucson.
