Uptime Magazine recognizes CAP’s Maintenance Program
Uptime Magazine and ReliabilityWeb.com, a global leader in maintenance and reliability, recently recognized Central Arizona Project with its Uptime Award for “Best Leadership for Reliability Program.”
The Uptime Award recognizes organizations that have achieved high levels of performance in maintenance reliability and encourages other organizations to adopt the practices of these high-performance programs.
“This award is a testament to the hard work and dedication of CAP’s Maintenance Group over the last 10 to 15 years to implement and achieve ‘maintenance excellence,'” said Tom McCann, Deputy General Manager for Operations & Maintenance.
“We have successfully transitioned from what was once primarily a reactive maintenance program—fixing things that were broken—to one that actively promotes the reliability of CAP equipment,” he said.
CAP will be presented with the award at the 30th International Maintenance Conference in December. The Uptime Awards were established in 2006. Past winners include Merck Pharmaceuticals, Marathon Oil, Peabody Mining, Arizona Public Service and the Metropolitan Sewer District of Greater Cincinnati.
CAP annually delivers about 1.6 million acre-feet of water from the Colorado River that is used by more than five million people living in Maricopa, Pima and Pinal counties.
