Allison Duffy is bridging gender gaps in entrepreneurship and technology.
“Many women don’t see technology as a career path and that leads to a lack of a diverse workforce. It will take a generation to change this, but it is a worthwhile cause,” said Duffy, who purchased her first tech company armed with a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Loyola University Maryland and a MBA from UArizona Eller College of Management.
In 2017. she acquired Silverado Technologies, which outsources IT services for businesses, specializing in network infrastructure management and cyber security risk mitigation.
“Our mission is ‘empower and protect from the mouse to the cloud.’ At Silverado, we create solutions and solve problems that people may not know exist.”
Duffy is a member of Angel Charity for Children; CREW Tucson; Southern Arizona Leadership Council; UArizona CALES Entrepreneurial Mindset Committee and Pima Community College IT Advisory Committee.
The mother of two encourages other women to explore business ownership in Tucson, where “small businesses are supported and thriving.”
