Cox names Tucson native as new Community Relations Coordinator
Cox in Tucson has named Melissa Acuña the new Community
Relations Coordinator for Southern Arizona. In her new position,
Acuña will lead the Cox Volunteers and Cox Charities programs for
southern Arizona as well as managing community partnerships to further
Cox’s involvement across Tucson. Last year the more than 380
Southern Arizona employees helped reach a Cox Charities milestone, by
donating over $160,000 to local non-profits in the community.
Since joining Cox in 2004, Acuña has held a number of roles with
increasing responsibility. Most recently she served as an Account
Service Supervisor, managing a team of customer service agents.
As a native of Tucson and a 10-year Cox employee, Acuña brings her
passion for community building to her new role. As an avid volunteer,
she contributes her time to three main causes aligned with Cox
Charities: youth, education and technology. She lends a helping hand
to Casa de los Niños, the Tucson Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, Junior
Achievement of Southern Arizona and the Children’s Museum Tucson.
“I take pride in working for Cox because it gives back to families
in need and serves the diverse community I grew up in,” said Acuña.
“I’m thrilled for Melissa to be a part of the Public Affairs team
where her unique insights as a Tucson native can be beneficial for Cox
to make investments in the community where they’re most needed,”
said Autumn van den Berg, Manager of Community Relations at Cox
Communications.
