Apple Annie’s officially opens for the 2015 season
Willcox-area destination launches summer harvest with Peach Mania
WILLCOX, Ariz. — Apple Annie’s, the premier farm and pick-your-own produce destination in southern Arizona, has officially opened for the 2015 season kicking off with the much-anticipated peach harvest. Apple Annie’s is now open seven days for pick-your-own farm-fresh fruits and vegetables and will host family-friendly festivals each weekend (starting July 11) continuing through the fall harvest until the end of October. Festival weekends benefit March of Dimes, Lupus Foundation and Youth Haven.
Apple Annie’s orchard summer season gets into full swing with the 16th Annual Peach Mania, featuring sweet and juicy tree-ripened peaches. Peach Mania is scheduled for the weekends of July 18-19 and 25-26; August 1-2, 8-9, & 15-16. There will also be a craft fair the weekend of August 1-2 welcoming crafters from around Arizona from 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. each day offering beautiful handmade crafts for sale. Visitors can enjoy a variety of delicious peach treats, including an “All You Can Eat” Peaches & Pancakes breakfast served from 7:30 a.m.-10:30 a.m. each weekend, homemade peach pie and homemade peach ice cream. For lunch, apple-smoked burgers will be served daily.
Guests can visit Apple Annie’s produce farm seven days a week for pick-your-own and pre-picked produce. The summer festival season kicks off in July; upcoming weekend produce farm festivals include:
Sweet Corn Festival: July 11-12, 18-19
Watermelon Weekend: July 25-26, August 1-2
Salsa Fiesta: August 8-9, 15-16
After a day spent hand picking farm-fresh produce, visitors can stop in at Apple Annie’s Country Store for fresh butters, jams, fudge, and delicious homemade pies and breads.
