UHS of Tucson, LLC acquires Palo Verde Mental Health from Tucson Medical Center
UHS of Tucson, LLC (UHS) has acquired Palo Verde Mental Health from Tucson Medical Center. Moving forward the operation will be called Palo Verde Behavioral Health (Palo Verde).
UHS intends to continue delivering the high quality behavioral services that Palo Verde has a long tradition of providing to the Tucson community. The facility currently offers adult inpatient psychiatric and detox treatment services, along with outpatient treatment programs. UHS will develop child and adolescent behavioral health programs including adolescent inpatient treatment, co-occurring diagnosis programs, chemical dependency outpatient and partial hospitalization programs to meet the great need and demand in Southern Arizona for these services.
UHS looks forward to working in partnership with Tucson Medical Center in expanding the facility’s resources by adding 36 inpatient beds by the end of 2014, increasing the facility’s capacity to 84 inpatient beds.
“We will continue to build and grow our operations around the excellent team of psychiatrists, registered nurses, clinical social workers and licensed professional counselors who are instrumental in our day-to-day delivery of quality behavioral services. We believe the expansion is essential to meet the behavioral health care needs of our patients in Tucson and the surrounding communities we serve,” said UHS Senior Vice President, Bob Deney.
“As we begin the seamless transition and integration of the operations to UHS, there will not be interruptions in the level of service you have been accustomed to and dedication to patient safety, customer service, and quality care will remain the same,” Mr. Deney added. UHS will keep a close working relationship with Tucson Medical Center through this transition and beyond.
