Live Theatre Workshop to Perform Waiting for Doggo in March
Live Theatre Workshop announces a new drive-in radio show, written and directed by Gretchen Wirges with original music by Michael Martinez and choreography by Amanda Gremel.
The show will perform March 12-28; Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30pm and Sunday “brunch” performances at 10:30am
House cats Latka and Gogo are at constant odds. They compete for everything, including the attention of their owners. When they overhear that there may be an addition of a new dog to their growing family, the cats conspire to secure their status in the Beck household. Join Latka, Gogo, and their feathered friend, Lucky, as they spend one antic-filled day awaiting the destruction of their happy home, all the while learning a valuable lesson about friendship, acceptance and embracing change.
“This show is about a family going through changes. They each deal with it in their own ways, but at the heart of it, they all care so much about each other. I’m incredibly proud that the messages in ‘Waiting for Doggo’ come through so beautifully thanks to Amanda Gremel’s choreography, Michael Martinez’s music and lyrics, and our brilliantly talented cast,” said writer and director Gretchen Wirges.
“I absolutely love the music and dancing and colorful fun of this show. The messages of being who you are no matter what and taking comfort in the love all around you will touch the hearts of our audiences, regardless of age,” Wirges added.

- How LTW drive-in shows work
Outdoor drive-in shows can be enjoyed from the comfort of guests’ own cars—or they can wear masks and tailgate or sit in lawn chairs in front of their cars—in the parking lot of the new LTW theatre campus. Guests watch live performers on the outdoor stage (raised for easy viewing from all locations) while tuning into the LTW radio station to hear the actors and sound effects. Cars are parked at least six feet apart. The performers will not be masked while on stage, but stringent safety precautions are in place to ensure performers stay far from one another and the audience. Bathrooms are available, subject to safety precautions.
Tickets
- General admission per car: $30
- General Admission plus snack packs: $40-$45
Tickets and snack packs can be purchased online or by phone: http://livetheatreworkshop.org and (520) 327-4242. Pre-ordered snack packs are sanitized and safely delivered to your car. Concessions are not available for purchase onsite.
