Darron Moffatt

Cox Communications welcomes Darron Moffatt as the director of government affairs for Cox in Arizona. 

Moffatt brings a powerful blend of leadership experience in government affairs, strategic communications expertise, and deep operational insight to Cox, positioning the company to effectively navigate legislative landscapes and amplify its positive community impact.

In his role, Moffatt will spearhead Cox’s strategic advocacy at federal, state, and local levels, ensuring alignment with critical legislation and public policy. He will also lead key initiatives focused on community engagement, grassroots advocacy, and strategic partnerships designed to foster an optimal environment for continued growth.

Moffatt most recently served as Chief Deputy Recorder for Maricopa County. In this role, he oversaw the leadership and operations of critical functions including early voting and elections, voter registration, communications, constituent services, government relations and recording services ensuring cross-departmental collaboration for maximum efficiency.

Moffatt’s distinguished career also includes roles as press secretary for a U.S. senator, managing state-wide communications strategy and media relations, and with the Arizona Secretary of State’s office advising on media strategy and policy positions.
