Ballet Tucson to Offer Free Spring Pop-Up Performances
Ballet Tucson has announced an upcoming line-up of free Pop-up performances throughout the Southern Arizona community. These performances provide opportunities for the arts lovers of all ages to engage with the region’s only professional ballet company in unique settings through partnerships with local treasures.
As part of the organization’s mission to share the inspiration of dance with the community and to create accessible opportunities to connect with the arts, Ballet Tucson will present five free performances from May 3-18. Dancers will perform at the Tucson Museum of Art, Children’s Museum Tucson, Tohono Chul Garden, La Encantada and Reid Park Amphitheater with the Tucson Pops Orchestra, led by Khris Dodge. Some performances also include community dance classes that allow people of all ages and skill levels to experience the joy of dancing themselves. There will also be ballet story times for young children.
This programming is designed to engage the community in new ways and all events are free to the public, eliminating barriers and creating the opportunity for everyone to experience the magic of ballet outside of traditional theater spaces. Complete programming and dates are available on the Ballet Tucson website under “Events.”
