R&A CPAs to expand service offerings with new IT Audit Division

R&A CPAs, one of southern Arizona’s leading public accounting and business advisory firms, has launched a new line of information technology auditing solutions. The new service line is in response to businesses’ increased dependence on information technology and the ever-growing threat of identity theft and fraud.
“As auditors, it is our job to understand every facet of each company we work with while also holding the unique position of being completely independent,” says Charlie Charvoz, CPA, CRFA, shareholder. “We have seen many companies who do not have the right systems in place to protect their client’s information against malicious cybercrime. This is a serious problem for companies today who need to serve their clients while protecting their private information.”

Nate Hutchings, CASP, Director of Information Systems, will be managing the program under the umbrella of R&A’s Assurance department. “I wanted to find a way to help companies implement the systems they need to protect themselves and their clients without having to worry about us selling them products they don’t need,” says Hutchings. “Because the IT industry is so intimidating for many people, it is easy for someone to buy a product and assume it will protect them against all viruses and cybercrime.
