Dr. Michael M.I. Abecassis

Dr. Michael M.I. Abecassis will become dean of the University of Arizona College of Medicine in November. He comes from the Feinberg School of Medicine at Northwestern University, where he was chief of the division of organ transplantation, founding director of the Comprehensive Transplant Center and professor of surgery and microbiology-immunology. He’s pioneered transplant surgical procedures and patient care and served as principal investigator for several research grants.
