Lewis Roca Rothgerber Announces the Election of Four New Partners
Lewis Roca Rothgerber LLP proudly announces the election of Lindsay L. McKae, Tam Thanh Pham, Jeffrey L. Sklar and Peter R. Wand to the firm’s partnership.
“These skilled attorneys demonstrate exemplary client service and an outstanding commitment to the firm,” said Ken Van Winkle, managing partner of Lewis Roca Rothgerber. “We are pleased to ask them to join the partnership and we look forward to their continued success with Lewis Roca Rothgerber.” McKae is a transactional attorney representing a variety of lending institutions in complex finance transactions, including real estate acquisition and construction loans, asset-based and other collateralized financings, low-income housing tax credit and tax-exempt bonds and loans, refinancings, loan workouts, modifications, foreclosures and deeds in lieu of foreclosures. She also commonly advises private and public clients on a local and regional basis on acquisitions, dispositions, development and leasing of various real estate assets. Additionally, McKae represents corporate clients on a wide array of business transactions, including formations, corporate compliance and management issues and stock and asset sales and purchases. She is based in the firm’s Denver office and is a Colorado native.
As a patent attorney, Pham represents clients at virtually all stages of development from start-ups to public companies by crafting and implementing intellectual property strategies aligned to the particular business goals of each client. Pham counsels clients on strategies for acquisition, acceleration, enforcement, and defense of domestic and foreign patents. She has represented clients in virtually every phase of patent preparation and prosecution, including reexamination, reissue, postgrant proceedings before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB) and appeals to the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. She is based in the firm’s Silicon Valley office.
Sklar has a wide-ranging litigation and appellate practice, including substantial experience in bankruptcy court. He regularly represents lenders in loan enforcement actions, businesses in commercial disputes and manufacturers in product liability cases. His recent experience includes serving as solo trial and appellate counsel in obtaining a nearly $2 million deficiency judgment against two guarantors following the trustee sale of several commercial parcels in Tucson. The Arizona Court of Appeals affirmed in a published opinion. Sklar also recently drafted a successful petition for review to the Arizona Supreme Court that resulted in a reversal of the Court of Appeals on a key question related to municipal zoning actions. Sklar serves on the board of directors of Interfaith Community Services, a nonprofit, social services agency that provides direct services to Pima County residents in need. He is based in the firm’s Tucson office.
Wand is a member of Lewis Roca Rothgerber’s tax practice and currently serves as the co-chair of the firm’s executive compensation and employee benefits practice. In his executive compensation and employee benefits practice, Wand helps employers design and administer qualified and non-qualified retirement plans and executive compensation programs, including equity-based incentive compensation programs (i.e., stock options, stock appreciation rights, phantom stock and restricted stock) governed by Section 409A of the Internal Revenue Code. In his estate and tax planning practice, Wand helps his clients identify and implement their tax and estate planning goals, utilizing the instruments and techniques best suited to each client’s needs, including revocable and irrevocable trusts, wills, powers of attorney, donor advised funds, family limited partnerships and private foundations. He is based in the firm’s Phoenix office.
