Big Brothers Big Sisters Mentoring Activity Center

Angel Charity for Children celebrated a ribbon cutting on May 7 to officially open the new Big Brothers Big Sisters Mentoring Activity Center.

Angel Charity committed $856,697 in 2025 to help fund the renovation of the newly purchased building for the center, which will serve as a dynamic hub of connection, learning and growth for children in our community. It will open the door to life-changing opportunities for children facing adversity.

The 5,700-square-foot Mentoring Activity Center, on 2552 N. Alvernon Way, will offer a safe, supportive environment where youth and their mentors, affectionately known as “Bigs” and “Littles”, can engage in meaningful, relationship-building activities. From STEM workshops and cooking classes to gardening, arts and crafts, and tutoring, the center will provide a wide range of enriching experiences designed to foster confidence, resilience and positive development.

“We are so excited to celebrate the official opening of this beautiful new building,” said Angel Charity 2025 General Chair Vicky Curtis. “It has been a true honor to work alongside the incredible BBBSSA team as they brought to life a long-held dream for a dedicated space where Bigs and Littles can safely come together in a central location, filled with opportunities for connection, learning, and fun.”

Caylor Design & Construction served as the general contractor on the project. Architectural services provided by Eglin+Bresler Architects.
