Tempo by Hilton at Uptown

Tempo by Hilton, a key part of the Uptown urban village, celebrated a topping out ceremony in March in which the final structural beam was placed at the highest point of the building.

The 144-room hotel, at 7400 N. Uptown Dr., is an integral part of the transformative, two-million-square-foot Uptown project by developer Bourn Companies. When finished, Uptown will feature a sophisticated mix of retail, dining, office space, residential living and hospitality on the previous site of the Foothills Mall.

The hotel is designed by Mayse & Associates, with collaboration by hospitality interior designer Studio 11 Design. It will be operated and managed by Valencia Hotel Group and Stovelight will oversee boutique hospitality purchasing and procurement. EBCO General Contractors serves as GC on the project.

“The enthusiasm surrounding the Tempo by Hilton project is energizing,” said EBCO VP Chris Egger. “Our trade partners remained engaged and supportive throughout the extended preconstruction timeline, and that dedication set the tone for a successful build.

Reaching the top-out milestone is an exciting moment for the entire team. We have loved working with Bourn and are proud to partner together on a project that will make a meaningful impact in the Tucson area.”

Added Jerry Hawkins, of Bourn’s Hospitality Division, “Subcontractors are truly the lifeblood of our community, and we deeply appreciate the dedication and craftsmanship they bring to their work each day.”

Expected to open in January 2027, the pet-friendly Tempo will feature approximately 3,000 square feet of flexible meeting and event space, including a dedicated boardroom and an indoor/outdoor bar experience. Guests will enjoy a second-level outdoor pool, a fully equipped fitness center, and five dedicated Wellness Rooms equipped with in-room Peloton bikes to support personalized fitness routines.
