Irlanda Cuevas-Leyva was born in culturally rich Ambos Nogales, and shares the wealth by fostering community and advocating for gender equity in the workplace. 

Dedicated to empowering those around her, the UA grad is committed to bringing Hughes’ innovative programs to life in the community to enhance member engagement and promote financial literacy. As part of a dedicated team, she helped implement the notable 70 Acts of Kindness campaign celebrating Hughes’ 70th anniversary. The initiative highlights community service and encourages members and employees to engage in acts of kindness, fostering generosity citywide. 

She encourages young professionals to take advantage of Tucson’s unique opportunities for growth and leadership. “It is a tight-knit community. The support I’ve received from mentors and seasoned leaders is unmatched. They look out for you!” 

Cuevas-Leyva serves on the board of Junior Achievement of Southern Arizona and is a leader for the Global Women’s Leadership Network Sister Society in Southern Arizona.
