Bourn Companies Celebrates Opening of Astrie at Uptown

Astrie, which celebrated a ribbon-cutting on July 23, marks the first completed chapter of Uptown, Bourn Companies’ 2.5 million-square-foot redevelopment of the former Foothills Mall site at Ina Road and La Cholla Boulevard.

The luxury residential community welcomed its first residents in late June and is now leasing.

Astrie is the first opportunity for Tucsonans to experience life within the Uptown vision. Envisioned as an Urban Resort Village, Uptown will blend the energy of urban living with the ease of a resort-inspired destination, and Astrie sets the standard for what follows: refined interiors, hospitality-inspired service and a level of finish new to the Tucson market.

“The Astrie is where Uptown becomes real,” said Don Bourn, CEO of Bourn Companies. “For the first time, people are no longer watching this district take shape, they’re living in it. Welcoming our founding residents is the most meaningful milestone in the project so far, and it reflects the quality and intention we’re bringing to every phase of Uptown.”

Residences range from studios to two-bedroom plus den homes, featuring nine-foot ceilings, open kitchens with quartz countertops and large center islands, full-size washers and dryers, smart keyless entry, and floor-to-ceiling windows and private balconies in select homes. Residents enjoy a hotel-inspired lobby with concierge service, a resort-style pool and spa, rooftop terraces, a boutique fitness center, a demonstration kitchen, a speakeasy, a Skybox sports lounge, a pet spa, massage rooms, and direct bridge access to structured parking with EV charging.

To mark the opening, Astrie is welcoming its founding residents with Ambassador Pricing, a limited founding-resident program offering preferred rates and exclusive benefits for those who join the community in its opening season. Astrie was built by Chasse Building Team and designed by PMM Architects with interiors by INDesign. Asset Living manages the community.

“Projects like Astrie are only possible through a truly collaborative team,” said Jeff Dupois, director of operations for Chasse Building Team. “Bourn Companies came to this project with a clear vision, and it shows in the craftsmanship throughout Astrie. We’re proud of what this team has built for Tucson.”

Construction continues across Uptown, with the Tempo by Hilton hotel expected to open in early 2027 as the district’s first hospitality offering, followed by retail, dining and entertainment destinations including Barnes & Noble, Clio, Memoir and a Los Milics Vineyards tasting room.
