ORO VALLEY HOSPITAL RECEIVES PEDIATRIC EMERGENCY CERTIFICATION
Oro Valley Hospital (OVH) has become a Pediatric Prepared Emergency Care (PPEC) certified hospital by the Arizona Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics (AzAAP).
This means Oro Valley Hospital’s Emergency Room (ER) meets specific criteria and is prepared to provide emergency care resources for pediatric patients. The OVH ER staff can stabilize a child for transfer to a facility that offers more specialized pediatric care if necessary.
The PPEC certification means parents can be confident taking their children to OVH for emergency care. Oro Valley Hospital CEO Jae L. Dale said, “We’re excited about this certification as it demonstrates our commitment to provide high quality care to everyone we serve. OVH has a reputation for treating the senior population in our community and while we are proud of the care we provide older adults, we also want our community to be confident we can care for the little ones in our ER too. The PPEC recognition demonstrates the wide range of care we provide in our ER.”
To receive this certification, OVH met specific criteria for personnel training, equipment and facilities that support optimal care for ill or injured infants, children and teens.
