Vineyard Park Senior Living Breaks Ground in Oro Valley

Vineyard Park Senior Living’s introduction to Oro Valley came with familiar local faces and a taste of Tucson. At the Oct. 13 groundbreaking for Vineyard Park Oro Valley, guests enjoyed eegee’s—the craveable, silky-smooth icy treat—in a sweet show of support for local businesses.

A recent Travel + Leisure article citing a GOBankingRates report ranked Oro Valley fifth among the 50 most livable retirement towns in the United States and the highest-ranking Arizona community.

For Vineyard Park, the occasion was as much about getting to know its neighbors as it was about beginning construction. “We are not here simply to build in Oro Valley. We are here to become part of Oro Valley,” said Shawn Tacey, CEO. “This community is known for quality of life, civic pride, health, wellness and care for one another. Those values align deeply with who we are as a family-owned senior living provider.”

Located at 12380 North Vistoso Park Road, Oro Valley, AZ 85737, Vineyard Park Oro Valley will include 137 units in the main community, with 113 assisted living units and 24 memory care units totaling 36 memory care beds. The project will also include 18 independent living casitas. Opening is expected in March 2028, with pre-sales anticipated to begin in mid-2027. Once complete, the community is expected to create new career opportunities in caregiving, nursing, dining, life enrichment, maintenance, sales, administration and leadership.

“Oro Valley continues to be recognized as one of the best places in the country to live, retire and age well,” said Mayor Joe Winfield. “We are pleased to welcome Vineyard Park as a future community partner that understands the importance of contributing to the life of this town.”

Kristen Sharp, CEO of the Oro Valley Chamber of Commerce, welcomed the project’s community focus. “Vineyard Park is entering Oro Valley with respect for the community and a clear interest in being involved,” Sharp said. “This project brings new jobs, new partnerships and an important new option for older adults and families. We are excited to see Vineyard Park take this first step.”

The gathering included Oro Valley Councilmembers Mary Murphy and Elizabeth Robb; Councilmembers-elect Matt Wood, Rhonda Piña and Rosa Dailey; Oro Valley Police Chief Kara Riley and Commander Zach Young; Golder Ranch Fire Chief Tom Brandhuber; and Leah Bahan, Business Development Director of the Oro Valley Chamber of Commerce.

Representatives from the offices of Pima County Supervisor Rex Scott and U.S. Congressman Juan Ciscomani, who represents Arizona’s 6th Congressional District, also attended.

The celebration  also brought together renowned Southwestern artist Diana Madaras; Tatyana S. Bresler of Eglin+Bresler Architects, P.C.; Cody Ritchie, CEO of Crest Insurance; Jim Gillespie, vice president of Crest Insurance; Rich Moret of Moret & Associates; and Dana Cooper of Gospel Rescue Mission. The construction crew from Sundt Construction also joined the celebration.

Vineyard Park also announced its Platinum Sponsorship of Rockin’ 4 Heroes, an annual fundraiser honoring first responders, police, fire and military service members.

With residents who are veterans and communities that rely on first responders, Vineyard Park sees the partnership as a natural connection.

“Rockin’ 4 Heroes exists to honor and support the men and women who step forward for all of us, day in and day out,” said Michael Quinn, co-founder of Rockin’ 4 Heroes. “We are grateful that Vineyard Park Senior Living has joined us as a Platinum Sponsor and is standing with the community in recognizing first responders, active military, veterans, and Gold Star families.”

Set between the Santa Catalina and Tortolita mountain ranges, Vineyard Park Oro Valley will reflect the area’s natural beauty and active lifestyle. Plans include mountain views and living options supporting residents’ independence. Vineyard Park will build relationships with local healthcare providers and community organizations.

“Our goal is to build proven trust long before we open our doors,” said Susan Corscadden, Chief Marketing Officer. “That means listening, showing up, supporting local organizations, working with local partners and earning our place in the community.”
